San Diego East County Crisis Stabilization Unit

“After the Storm”

Mosaic, 4’ x 8’ 2025

Sage has been important to various cultures, including indigenous people of the Southern California region, for thousands of years. Used for its healing and protective properties, our local area and Northern Baja are the only areas where White Sage naturally occurs in the world. This mosaic mural was created using smalti glass and represents a field of sage after a storm has passed. The mural is located in the outdoor patio area of the facility.
