| "Kites Over Vista" Sculpture Exhibit To create a visual puzzle I have taken a three dimensional kite and flattened it into two dimension shapes. I will create the illusion of depth by using angles and color.
The sculpture will be attached to the top of the pole with a sealed bearing which will allow for rotational movement in the wind. The structural skeleton will be made from aluminum tubing with the kite’s “boxes” composed of digitally printed plexiglass.
The finished “box kite” will be set on a slight angle which will allow light to pass through the translucent boxes and cast colorful shadows on the sidewalk below.
When reducing the shape to its primary lines and angles I discovered that a “V” shape is prominent throughout the design, befitting the sculptures placement in Vista.
Overall dimenensions 16‘ x 3” x 10’
